Re: Brady's sun column
She hasn't said sorry.
She apologised to those fans who were at the Burnley game and didn't protest.
She does admit our league position is down to them, but that is true, who else's fault could it be. They have been unbelievably idiotic in their running of the club for years and have all but killed it, so some belated half arsed apology in her column that she is paid to write is not going to cut it.

Re: Brady's sun column
I don’t hold store by the written apology that you see these days in the media. Or ‘apology’ in this case
Apologies only matter if you look someone in the eye and speak the words.
She should appear on the pitch at some point and spout this bollocks and see how it goes down with the fans that go to games.
Ditto Sullivan. Perhaps he could ask for a show of support. Or otherwise

Re: Brady's sun column
I think you are correct to say they treat us like an annoyance, but the reality is all the money comes from us.
TV money depends on all the fans. Take one teams fans out of the equation and revenues will go down. We pay for the advertising, if we did not PAY to watch the advertisers would not pay to advertise. Even the owners claim to be fans and if they put any money in it can be said to be from fans.

Re: Brady's sun column
Why the fuck is Brady using her Sun column for this apology?

That’s as bad as tagging someone on Facebook rather then calling, visiting or even texting them to say happy brithday.

It just proves that she is only interested in promoting the Karen Brady brand and that apology was not for us, it was for her.

That column is a part of the problem for me and she should never be allowed to talk about West Ham in it.

Re: Brady's sun column
Well I tried to read it and it's typical her imo. Written by a PR woman for her and making more promises to sort things out no doubt. I will lay £1 to a 1p that she has fired WH staff for being as stupid as she has been!

It's wrong to say fans feel as though they are "treated like customers." They aren't treated like customers at all. I think they have been treated as an unnecessary annoyance because they get 80% of their income without any fans or "customers".

Re: Brady's sun column
It’s good she more or less said sorry.
I think they are trying to deliver improved football, just getting it all wrong. Yes bigger stadium / revenues are needed to improve football and can been interrupted as lining pockets.
Interesting the comparisons with Barca as I find the stadium experience (football appart) are similar, sight lines, distance from play, atmosphere.
Surroundings of the OS are terrible, I agree.
Just need to stay up and improve the football and we will feel a bit happier!

The comic she no doubt gets paid by is read by halfwits. Her and the other two have bulldozed our history for thier own financial gain.
We collectively should never have let it happen but loads of us took the bait. They are liars and tealeaves the likes of who have no morals or decency between them.
The club by family tradition I've followed for as long as I can remember is no more.

Chaps I agree entirely
I can go there when I want via ST's but doubt I will again, I have entertained clients corporately there, but won't again
I utterly despise the place and all it stands for, Brady mostly and those lieing shitcunts

Re: Brady's sun column
Combination of big media presence talking up the new ground and signings with a piss poor reality in both areas. Then throw in the alienation of the core fan base while they are clearly coining it and it's just an absolutely toxic cocktail they've mixed here.

These are almost unbelievably shit football club owners.

Re: Brady's sun column
Crassus - no problem at all mate I get that, and I'd much rather be watching a good team, as promised by those shitbags. That's the least the fuckers can do.

But that fucking stadium just kills it for me. I hate it. I hate its surroundings and the walk to it. Not because I'm nostalgic for Upton park because my memories of that are mainly rooted in the 80's ground. I hate it because it's simply, innately shit It alters my experience of watching football to something I just don't enjoy.

Neil

Mate I agree whole heartedly and fuck me don't think that my apparent pre-occupation with the numbers is my only issue

I remember when we were set to move posting upon here that the maths were not right, this new ground financially could not lift us player expenditure wise into a top seven side - the extra 20k and the subsidised admission just did not work

Low and behold we have gone from Brady's world class statements, to Sullivan's no more than £10m, to we moved because we were ' a bit tin pot'.

They are utter cunts and I dig the numbers pedantically to illustrate their lies

Re: Brady's sun column
They're greedy, foolish and have no ambition other than making money by keeping us in the Prem. If we stay up it will be viewed and spun as success.

Haven't delivered on either carrot that was dangled to smooth the move.
Taken the piss. If they had even tried to deliver on either they wouldn't be getting as much abuse and hatred directed at them now.

Re: Brady's sun column
I don't really even care about net spend and the like, although I understand the concerns.

My problem is that I'm being asked to watch football in stadium that is totally unsuited for that purpose. A stadium, moreover, which I have to walk fucking miles through a soulless and disengaging place to get to. My experience of watching football is fucked. That impression is reinforced every time I go to that cunt of an athletics stadium.

We could be Barcelona, and that would cheer me up, but it still wouldn't miraculously transform the athletics stadium into something fit for purpose. It would just make the experience more tolerable, like an opiate mitigating pain. It wouldn't make it as good as watching 'Barcelona' in a football stadium.

This is what needs to be confronted, and what the Board will never admit. Namely that in moving to a fucking athletics stadium they've fucked football per se for a large number of their fans. No wonder they want 'customers'; it's the only way of obscuring that fact.

We will never be the club we thought we were in that ground. It's not possible, too many people hate it.

selecta

You entirely miss the point - the club is undoubtedly fucked sideways, worse than I have ever known it for decades, in every regard bar one and that is the matter that the architects of this shithouse claim is the reason - money

As such some of us labour through the deceptive board statements in conjunction with the actual facts to beat the drum that they have destroyed the club for gratuitous financial gain and by way of, slap some of the SGB accolites around the ear with the wet fish of financial accuracy

Re: Brady's sun column
Makes me laugh when people look at the figures and say the club is in a healthy position, how that fuck can you call a relegation battle and complete fan base unrest a healthy position!!
Having money on the books does not mean the club is healthy, it's one part of the equation.

Alex

I won't bicker with you any more and underlyingly we are, sort of, agreeing

We will depart mind upon the future, penny wise pound stupid springs to mind x leopards and spots - we are in a hopeless position whilst these idiots are in charge

And contemplate this according to Forbes ( I checked the numbers for the avoidance of doubt) - they are sitting upon a business worth £496m, turning £146m and dropping £32m profit with debts of 11%

Outstanding? Of course
Until you factor that TV revenue is £121m of that £146m and consider that they initiated interest bearing director loans of £49m in 2016 that accrue at £3m P.A. So all that for non TV revenues of £25m.........

Oh and the much maligned Mike Ashley has invested £129m, non interest bearing, in Newcastle

I don't share your enthusiasm for the future but would not mind their lottery numbers - they have won it, courtesy of Mr P Scudemore

Re: Brady's sun column
The club will never be healthy with GSB at the helm. This is all just bollocks. Fucking spin and bollocks because their egos have been collectively pricked. Don’t expect them to change their ways, they are utter shysters.

Lip service via a fucking rag just because they’re embarrassed!

Only thing they’ll do properly is cut down any dissent at games to savefurther embarrassment. That could well end badly.
